There is a big difference between Nonrenewable resources and Renewable. Renewable resources are great for the environment and has very little harm like solar panels, but one disadvantage to solar panels is that if you are trying to power a whole city it would take hundreds of panels and that takes up a lot of room. Now Nonrenewable resources are very bad for the the environment like fossil fuels we use these everyday when we drive and use other machines that require gas. what this does is it releases Carbon Dioxide into the air. some effects of this is the Ozone layer begins to slowly disappear also global warming starts to happen ice caps melt the water level rises these are all causes of us using nonrenewable resources instead of renewable we are slowly destroying the world we live in and it seems like no one cares.

  1. How much do solar panels cost?

  2. Well that depends on how many you need solar power is measured by watts and you pay for how much watts you use monthly

  6. in some cases yes they have but all solar panels have certain regulations they have to meet in order to be sold.

  9. I'm a big fan of biodiesel even though hippies offer the compliant that we'd literally be using a possible food source for fuel (but the source isn't paleo so I don't care). Diesel engines can easily be converted and the impact on quality of life for the average consumer would be less. Hybrids aren't vary effective and contribute their own issues to earth killing (batteries specifically). Some thought must be given to this aspect of saving the world. I like plants and animals way more than I like people in general, but if people think they will be made to suffer they will protest any plan that may cause that.

  16. Tegg here are a few ways to cut back on our energy consumption
    1. unplug anything you aren't using.
    2. turn the water off when you are done.
    3. and i know this sounds crazy but maybe spend one night a week using candles.

    1. As far as "hippies" being the ones to disagree with biofuel, what I don't think was explored is the fact that if we use all of our corn for ethanol, that makes the prices of feed for livestock go up, which in turn effects the price of meat and eggs (Paleo), so just a thought for you on that.
I live in Wyoming, which is the source of a great deal of the energy that is used by other states. The headwaters for 3 major rivers start in Wyoming - water power....
Windmills are great, however at this time we do not have the infrastructure in place to tansmit that energy.
Wyoming has major natural gas and, of course, coal. Cleaner than non-renewable oil fuels, but, unfortunately - non-renewable at some point. If you ever want to see some ugly land, check out coal mines in Gillette, WY. Not pretty.....
Methanol and solar are both about the best. Sun's not going anywhere and this world is full of you know what... :)
